There are some really crappy people in this world. I truly hope that karma kicks them in the ass.
Tenant pays rent, landlord doesn’t pay mortgage, bank forecloses and tenant gets evicted. What happens to the landlord? Not a damn thing. What should happen to the landlord? I think they should be forced to house the evicted tenant until the tenant finds a place to live. The landlord is a piece of trash.
The most infuriating thing about the whole situation is that the place was rented out while the foreclosure procedings were going on. How can that be legal? Its stuff like this that makes me have a negative view on society. I’m glad that legislation is in the works to prevent this, but something should be done really fast to rectify the problem.
I hear you man. Down here there was a whole apartment complex that got their water turned off because the person/company running the units didn’t pay the water bill, even though it is part of the rent paid by the tenants.
Here’s something else I’d love to hear your response to. Q100, a local radio station down here, had a girl on today who made up, lied, fabricated over 90% of her resume to get a job. And when I say lied, I mean she even made up the companies she worked for, they do not even exist! She did get the job and then was called into her boss’s office after a month on the job and asked to bring her resume. Fired right? Nope! Is offered a promotion! And guess what? They told her that it was between her and another woman working there but that they want to offer it to her – why?? – BECAUSE SHE HAS SO MUCH MORE EXPERIENCE ACCORDING TO HER RESUME!
And she talked about “Oh, I don’t know what to do…blah blah blah”. You know she’s going to take it and the money and probably will get away with it. And the other woman, who actually does have a degree in this area and does have a REAL work history in this area and is honest is going to get the shaft and end up REPORTING TO THIS LIAR!
And what did most people say calling in? “Take the job! Way to go! Just ride it till the wheels fall off!” What the hell has happened to this country?! Since when would there not be outrage over such crap like this? I guess that coach who lied about his education and then got fired when he took the Notre Dame head coach job should reapply!
It is stuff like this, the story you mention and countless other examples of moments when you can ask yourself “Where are we going and why am I in this handbasket?” that cause me to have a somewhat pessemistic attitude. Where are the people who are going to right the ship? Over 20 state representatives in Georgia owe back taxes, the head of the IRS lied on his taxes, people running companies lie about revenues and will go through the trouble of creating holding companies to hold on to “reality” while they get their paycheck and bonuses. Seriously…start playing that song “Where have all the good men gone?”
I don’t know how to start a revolution, but morally and work-ethically one must happen. We will not be saved by doing things “by any means necessary” like has happened in several companies or by handing whatever someone needs to them without having to work for it. People should be better and at some point in history, people in this country were. I have read a lot about world war 2 folks and they seemed to have the right work ethic to get things done, do what was right and do what was best for their fellow man (obviously not everyone was perfect, but a general theme did exist). I’m not sure exactly when that idea started getting trampled in the stampeed of self-gain, but it is on life support at best.
