Typical twenty minute performance from the US tonight, and once again we paid the price. The a-typical thing about the game was we came out looking like world beaters and then quit, instead of starting slow and then realizing we were playing a game in the 70th minute. Soooooo frustrating to continue to see us under perform like that. We’re a better team than them and we need to freaking prove it on the field. Anyway, it’s hard to make any really good judgments about individual players in games like this, but I’ll share some impressions about what I saw.

USMNT Friendly: US 1 – 1 Mexico
I know the game was several days ago now, but I still wanted to throw ac couple of thoughts out there since it was Klinsmann’s first game and a rare appearance for a handful of the guys that played Wednesday night.
WWC: USA Over Brazil in PKs
If you didn’t watch the US Women defeat Brazil in the Women’s World Cup quarterfinals today you missed one of the most exciting victorious in US Soccer history, men’s or women’s. Just a couple of quick thoughts on the game.
USMNT Gold Cup: US 2 – 0 Canada
Coming off the debacle of a game against Spain I have to admit that I was really worried about our chances in the Gold Cup. The team that played last night looked nothing like what we saw last week. I recognize there is a different level of quality between the opponents, but the whole attitude of the US team was completely different. A couple of thoughts from the game. Continue reading
Recent USMNT Friendlies
Been away for a little while, but had some thoughts I felt compelled to share after the last two USMNT friendlies with Argentina and Paraguay.
Thoughts on the Chick-fil-A Bowl
Oh how good did that win feel? It was ugly as all hell, but it still felt so freaking good. I can’t stand Steve Spurrier, South Carolina fans rank up there with Red Sox fans in terms of annoying, and it gave FSU their first ten win season in…well, too many years.
ACC Championship
It didn’t turn out how I wanted, but it turned out how I kind of expected. The most frustrating thing about the final score is that it should have been closer than it was. A couple of things that I took away from the game.
College Football Weekend Rewind
It’s been a while since I’ve written one of these, but the smorgasbord of football over the last several days is too good to go unacknowledged. A ton happened so I’m just going to quickly run through a couple of thoughts on each one.
Let’s get started with my favorite part of the weekend:
Best Play Ever
My favorite football to watch is easily college football, but the best play I’ve seen in a long time, maybe ever, comes from a middle school game. This has been on the news a lot lately, but I had to make sure as many people as possible see this play.
I think my favorite part is the reaction of the defensive linemen that can’t figure out what the quarterback is doing. It’s great.
College Football Week 2 Rewind
What a depressing weekend of football. I didn’t post about last week, because their just wasn’t that much exciting that happened. Most of the teams that I cared about were still playing scrimmage games, so I wanted to wait until they had a real test before I commented on their success or failures.
UGA lost to SC, which is depressing. I just don’t like SC. Gamecock fans are generally just annoying and they’re coach is a huge ass.
FSU got spanked by Oklahoma and any fantasies Ponder had of winning the Hiesman ended today. I knew our defense was going to be a problem, but our offense, which was supposed to be our strength just didn’t show up.
Given the rest of the ACCs goose egg of wins today, maybe the Noles can at least win the conference. Yeah, I doubt it too.
