Random Quote

Out of the blue random quote I thought of today that I think is funny.  Don’t ask why I though of it.

“Raining down sulphur is like an endurance trial man. Mass genocide is the most exhausting activity one can engage in, outside of soccer.”

Der Spiegel Interview of a McCain Advisor

I don’t really know anything about this guys except that he’s a neoconservative, a former Bush adviser, and a current McCain adviser.  Nonetheless, I found this article fascinating.  I think its mostly because I find that European reporters have an interviewing style that is impatient when dealing with political song and dancing.  They’re not afraid to really confront the people they’re interviewing when they think they’re getting BS.  Hope you enjoy it as well.

A Journalist’s Day in Baghdad

I don’t even remember how I came across this NY Times blog post in my Internets meandering today, but I had to share.  Its an account of a day as a journalist in Baghdad and some of the weirdness of being in a combat zone.  Very impactful and profound piece, but I have to warn that it can be a little graphic at times.  I really implore you to take the time to read it.

AIG Executives Take a Vacation

AIG gets bailed out to the tune of $85 million and then sends their executives on a sweet vacation.  Its stuff like this that makes me distrust and despise high powered corporate America.

Some guy in the ariticle argues that he can see some sense in the trip if they’re trying to get people together to set up a gameplan.  You know, I have no problem with that, but they could have done it nearby their headquarters at an offsite that wasn’t going to run up a $400k bill.  Did they really need to spend $23k in spa treatments?  Rediculous.
