First Attempt Playing with HDR Photography

One thing that has truly amazed me about G+ is some of the incredibly talented photographers that are using the platform as a playground to share their work and view the work of others in their field.  I really can’t aptly describe how awesome some of the work on there is.  In addition to drooling over the work of others, I decided to try to mess with some photos that I took on trips before to see what I could do with my Photoshop Elements.  I’ve heard that while it doesn’t have all the fun toys that the full version of PS does, you can still do some pretty impressive things with it.

Below is the result of my first real sit down of seeing what I could come up with.  No one is going to mistake it for even a first year photography student’s work, but I can’t say I’m totally disappointed with it.  There are still some things I would change, but it’s a start.  And yes, I know it’s not really HDR, but it’s probably as close as I’ll get.

Cherry Blossom Festival ’10

I know this is sort of random timing, but I finally got around to uploading the pictures that we took down at the Tidal Basin during the Cherry Blossom Festival this year.  This really does represent one of my favorite places to be at this time of year.  If you’ve never made the trip, you really should make the effort to do so.  Hope you like the pics.

Lightning Over Dhaka

Humayan’s Tomb, New Delhi, India

Humayan’s Tomb is probably my favorite architectural thing that I saw in New Delhi.  I feel a little strange saying that because even though it was much more impressive than the Red Fort, it had some deficiencies.  The actual structure and the exterior are truly amazing.  Its really is one of the most impressive structures I’ve seen.

Pictures from Snowpocalypse ’09

You’re living under a rock if you don’t know about the big snowstorm we’re having along the mid-Atlantic coast and north. Cris and I have had a pretty nice day of lazying about, but we did for a brief walk earlier to soak it in. The cool thing for me is that this is by far the most snow I’ve ever had in a place I’ve lived and I particularly like that it came so close to Christmas. Here are some pics we took out walking around our neighborhood.
